DON'T WORRY; PRAY.
Pastor Di Wilson wrapped up our Shine weekend with an awesome message this morning at New Heart Church. She shared with all of us one of her greatest addictions: peace.
To find peace in our lives, Pastor Di encouraged us to do three things:
We have to learn how to make peace a permanent part of our lives. When we set Jesus as the focal point of our hearts and minds he becomes the filter through which we look at our circumstances. When we see him first, he is able to change our perspective and his peace is able to take over.
"If the Bible doesn't say it, don't speak it." We need to learn what it means to speak truth and peace over ourselves and others regardless of our circumstances or our feelings. Peace is not dependent on how we "feel"; it is dependent on God, and he never feels any differently about us. We can speak truth and peace over ourselves at all times, then, because he who promised is faithful and constant.
After we set peace permanently before us and learn how to speak peace over ourselves even when we don't feel like it, we become more capable of praying according to God's will for us. God's sole desire is to see us united with him in spirit and in truth, and his peace allows us to walk boldly to his throne and pray over the circumstances in our lives.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
This weekend has been full of great teaching, awesome food, and beautiful sisterhood. As we make our way back into the world today, let us remember to always let love lead the way.
