Nothing thrills my heart more than the thunderous sound of God’s daughters connecting as I walk into a SISTERHOOD gathering. Usually I hear the buzz of excitement well before I enter the room. Each time I encounter this breathtaking sound, I smile to myself because I know so much more is happening in those conversations than just words. Hearts are being caressed - prayers are being lifted - stories are unfolding - laughter is raising spirits and lighting up faces… divine is touching ordinary. In these pre-meeting moments, women find acceptance - freedom - belonging ...as they’re drawn into the essence of this amazing thing called Sisterhood!
I love these weekly gatherings… yet SISTERHOOD is not a meeting or a place… it’s a movement of everyday girls, connected heart and soul, who are passionate about bringing Heaven to earth. Sisterhood is friendship and mission.
Girls understand we need each other - life abounds with joy when shared with a friend. Sisterhood is what happens in a million tiny different ways when girls simply do what girls do best…LOVE one another. Sisterhood is: connecting over a cup of coffee - it’s being her biggest cheerleader in life - it’s listening when she’s hurting - it’s expressing brave honesty - it’s letting our guard down and inviting our sister into the deepest recesses of our soul… it’s truly face to face salvation.
Girls also understand that we are better together! We are more courageous - more influential - more strategic… TOGETHER! Something absolutely astounding occurs when we gather, roll up our sleeves and serve hurting humanity. As a company of women, there’s no injustice too big, no institution too powerful, no corner of the world too far away... to tackle with God’s monumental love. I can’t explain how it happens, but positive change always blankets the broken when God’s girls stand with one voice - one heart - one united front - together.
Personally, SISTERHOOD rescued my life five years ago, when our 17 year old son, Caleb, fell asleep at the wheel, hit a tree, and was instantly relocated to Heaven. The devastation and grief were overwhelming. I don’t know how I would have made it without my sisters! My friends were Jesus to me. From that first moment until now – I’ve been surrounded by the most incredible women on the planet… all I can say is I can never doubt how much God cares about and loves me, because of how SUPER-naturally my friends, family and church responded. In fact, I simply don’t know how people who aren’t connected to others make it when trouble comes. Bottom line is – we need our sisters in Christ, no matter how big or small the circumstances we are walking through! We are family and it’s our delight to bear one another’s burdens; to lift and lend strength to one another. Jesus said in Hebrews 10: 24-25(Amp), “And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, ... admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.” Beautiful friend, I need you – you need me – we need each other! WE are sisters for life…through our particular highs & lows… AND... so we might carry God's healing love to the world around us. Let us beckon one another onward for the Cause of Christ, so that we leave this world spent.
I am forever convinced that there is nothing more revolutionary or WONDER-full than this global Sisterhood phenomenon that’s sweeping the earth, as God prepares to return for his glorious bride. Don’t waste another minute, grab a friend and join us on this Sisterhood journey of a lifetime!
Heart & Soul,
